Current Roadworks - Temporary Road Closures - Bridge Closures


The Samuel Beckett Bridge will close to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the following dates to facilitate Maintenance work. 

  • Tuesday 21st March 21:00-22:00 Fortnightly operational check
  • Tuesday 4th April 21:00-22:00 Fortnightly operational check

Virgin Media Night Run 2017

 
Following a request received from Athletics Ireland, Dublin City Council is considering the temporary closure of the following roads to facilitate the Virgin Media Night Run 2017 on the dates and times listed below:
 
Location 1:      North Wall Quay (from Samuel Beckett Bridge to Castleforbes Street), Dublin 1 from 18.30hrs to 21.30hrs on Sunday 23rd April 2017.
 
Location 2:      North Wall Quay (from Commons Street to Samuel Beckett Bridge), Dublin 1 from 19.00hrs to 23.15hrs on Sunday 23rd April 2017.
 
 
In addition to temporary road closures there will be temporary traffic lane closures on the race route from North Wall Quay (NWQ), Custom House Quay (CHQ), Eden Quay (EQ), O’Connell Street, Cathal Brugha Street, Marlborough Street, EQ, CHQ, Talbot Memorial Bridge, City Quay, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay (SJRQ), Benson Street, Hanover Quay, Misery Hill, Macken Street, Pearse Street, Ringsend Road, Bridge Street, Irishtown Road, Seapoint Terrace, Pembroke Street, Sean Moore Road, East Link Bridge and North Wall Quay between 21.00 and 23.00hrs
 
Pedestrian and local access will be maintained during the period of the closure.
 
Any person may lodge an objection, in writing, to Dublin City Council, Transportation, (Road Works Control) Block 2 Floor 6, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, or by email to roadworks.control@dublincity.ie . The closing time and date for receipt of objections is 12:00 midday on Saturday 25th May 2017.
 

Hanover Street East, Dublin 2

 

GAS Networks Ireland intends to close the following road to facilitate gas connection works on the date and times listed below:
 
Hanover Street East (from Lime Street to Macken Street), Dublin 2 from 08.00hrs to 20.00hrs on Saturday 25th March 2017.
 
Traffic Management Plan
•Traffic on Lime Street wishing to travel on Hanover Street East to Macken Street will be diverted via Pearse Street
•Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.
 
 

Sheriff Street Upper, Dublin 1
 

A request has been received from Ward & Burke Construction for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate major drainage construction works on the dates and times listed below:
•Sheriff Street Upper, (from New Wapping Street to Castleforbes Road), Dublin 1 from 00.00hrs on Tuesday 7th March 2017 to 24.00hrs on Sunday 30th April 2017.
 
Traffic Management Plan
•Traffic on Seville Place wishing to travel on Sheriff Street Upper to East Wall Road will be diverted via Guild Street and North Wall Quay.
•Traffic on East Wall Road wishing to travel on Sheriff Street Upper to Seville Place will be diverted via North Wall Quay and Guild Street.
•Traffic on East Wall Road wishing to travel on Sheriff Street Upper to East Road will be diverted via North Wall Quay and New Wapping Street.
•Traffic on East Road wishing to travel on Sheriff Street Upper to East Wall Road will be diverted via New Wapping Street and North Wall Quay.
•Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.
 

Sir John Rogersons Quay, Dublin 2

 

  • Closed to through-traffic up until 12th June 2017
  • Closed between the junctions of Benson Street and Britain Quay to facilitate adjacent site development operations. 
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.
